We all know them as SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association, well, not anymore! After 80 years in the industry SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association has rebranded to Plastics Industry Association and they’ve got a fresh new look. They’ll be going by the name “Plastics” for short. Their new look includes this modern new logo with six sides, each representing an important part of the industry supply chain, including brand owners, equipment manufacturers, material suppliers, mold makers, processors and recyclers.

So, what brought on this rebranding?

President & CEO, Bill Carteaux explains that the decision to rebrand sprouted from a need for clarity. He spoke about how it was difficult to explain what SPI was to people and he did not like the fact that it was an acronym. He goes on to talk about how he can now walk into a meeting and say “I belong to plastics” and how there’s no confusion around that. Watch the full interview Bill Carteux below.
