Understanding The New Plastics Industry Association’s Environmentally Preferable Purchasing (EPP) Guide

On February 1st the Plastics Industry Association released its’ new EPP guide. The entire guide can be found here but if you don’t have time to read through the entire document we thought we’ break it down for you. Here’s what you need to know about the guide:

What is it?
It’s a document that explains the various EPP policies that plastics business can leverage to position themselves as entities that sell products that are made from recycled materials or are in some way environmentally friendly to industry purchasers.

How is it going to help?
By governing and streamlining the way manufacturers talk about how their products are environmentally sustainable, It makes it easier for purchasers to seek out suppliers that are offering products with a specific environmental benefit.

Why does it exist?
This one of the many initiatives that Plastics Industry Association has created to drive recovery and expand demand for recycled plastics, including Zero Net Waste, End-of-Life Vehicle Project and The Recycling Partnership.
